Steve Madden Handbag

I've been browsing for a nice, trendy and affordable handbag suitable for work recently. Oftentimes I would find something I like but the price tag is just way out of my budget and not something that I can justify splurging on.

I went in to the Nine West store in the Gardens Mall and saw a brown coloured bag that I liked but unfortunately, they didn't have one in stock (they just had the display bag). So, after asking them to check out for stocks in other stores, I was directed to the Nine West outlet in Robinsons which is just around the corner and in the same mall.

Upon getting there though, I discovered two things: one, the bag that I was after, although was displayed on the shelf in Robinsons, they too, didn't have any in stock and two, I saw the bag that I eventually purchased in the Steve Madden outlet which happens to be right next to Nine West. Although I liked the Nine West bag's design, I preferred the material of the Steve Madden Bag more. Moreover, the Steve Madden Bag was slightly cheaper than the Nine West bag, so, win! :)

After finding out recently that Maybank Treats Points have expiry dates and are good for only 3 years. So, with that in mind, I went ahead and traded some of my Maybank Treats Points for Robinsons gift vouchers and purchased this Steve Madden handbag :)

I'm glad that I didn't purchase the bag in H&M a few months back. This bag looks way nicer :) It's roomy (read that to mean that I can thrown in loads of things into it including a book, newspaper, a bottle of water for those hot days and perhaps small shopping purchases on top of my regular handbag things) and hopefully it'll last me a long time.

AEON BiG Gift Card

My steam iron decided to retire a few days ago without giving me prior notice. I discovered this in the morning when I was trying to iron my top for work.

So, after shopping around for a replacement iron, I decided to purchase one from AEON BiG Mid Valley since I could trade in my Maybank Treats Points for a AEON BiG Gift Card worth RM105 at the Maybank Credit Card Centre in the Gardens Mall. I used the gift card to not only purchase an iron but also some groceries and I've still got a balance on the card! I'm not complaining :)

The Coffee and Spice Company

I redeemed my Groupon (RM5 for RM10 cash voucher for all food and beverages) at The Coffee and Spice Company in 1-Utama today. I had a late lunch at about 4 PM. Sorry, no pics as I was feeling a tad lazy today and was also hungry (thus, the reason behind no pics as I attacked the food the moment it arrived!!!).

If you're familiar with 1-Utama, The Coffee and Spice Company is located on the Ground Floor, right across from Jusco, in the newly refurbished old wing.

I must say that I found the quality of food that I received good value for money. I had the Nasi Tomato with Chicken and it was generally good (apart from the fish which I found to be a little bit salty) . The wait staff were particularly polite, attentive and efficient which is a plus point when compared to competitor cafes and best of all, their prices are really affordable for an outlet located in a major shopping mall.

My total bill came up to RM17.50 (Nasi Tomato & a drink) which I paid with the RM10 cash voucher and topped up RM7.50. So in the end, I saved almost 30% on my meal today while trying out a new food outlet.

So...would I go there again? Definitely!  :)

I'm looking forward to trying something else on their menu on my next visit.

MilkADeal: Two slices of cake from SuChan

I redeemed my MilkADeal voucher for two slices of cake from the new SuChan outlet in the e-Curve recently.

I picked the Tiramisu (since so many people have been giving it rave reviews on the MilkADeal site) and the Black Forest Cake.

The cakes were packed in a box since I asked for a to go order

The two slices of cake in the box

...and this is the much raved about Tiramisu cake

The verdict:
I found the Tiramisu super sweet (this is probably because I don't like super sweet food). I guess the people who were raving over it have really sweet tooth.

I found the Black Forest Cake okay, but really nothing spectacular.

I'm glad I bought these cakes on a deal and didn't pay full price for them. So, would I go back there for their cakes? Hmmm... maybe not :(

Eating out at a fraction of the price

I went to Nando's for lunch yesterday and had a meal and bottomless soft drink for RM5.30.

I used one of the RM20 Nando's vouchers which I redeemed from Bonuslink something like two months ago! In fact, I redeemed my Bonuslink points for two RM20 Nando's vouchers which means that I've still got another one  :) It's a meal for a fraction of the price and I'm not complaining!

Aroma Thai

I went to Aroma Thai located in Damansara Perdana for early dins yesterday evening (as I didn't have lunch) to redeem my WeBuy voucher which I purchased (I paid RM10 for a RM25 voucher). It was quiet when I arrived at around 6 PM. In fact, I was the only customer there. People did start coming in at around 6:30 PM though.

I ordered Seafood Tom Yum (since I read many great reviews about it on the net), Fried Beef in Red Chilies, steamed rice and Lemongrass Juice. The lemongrass juice was refreshing. Unfortunately I found the beef tough and the tom yum was alright but not brilliant --- I guess that is what happens when you've been to Thailand and had the real McCoy!

The bill came up to RM35 and I topped up the RM10 at the cashier. As I was leaving the restaurant, I spotted a roach (a small one) on the floor!

Tea Republic

Remember the WeBuy voucher I bought for Tea Republic in BSC (Click here if you missed it earlier)? Anyway,  I went there to redeem it today.

The Tea Republic is nicely tucked away somewhere in the back corner on the second floor of BSC's new wing  making it a nice and quiet spot. When I arrived (it was around 3:30 PM), there was only one other customer there.  I sat outside on the balcony as it was raining and the air condition inside was pretty chilly.

The quiet balcony

I had the Starfruit Tropicalitea Blend and two chicken mushroom pies for tea.

A Starfruit Tropicalitea and two Chicken Mushroom Pies for tea!

They were supposed to give me a RM5 voucher for my next visit but I think they ran out of it. The waiter suggested that I take something away worth RM5 and I chose to try the cupcake. The cupcake was not too highly exciting (not after having discovered Kitsch in Dubai!) though it did look pretty. The cupcake was packed in an eco-friendly cardboard  box for me to takeaway.

Like I said in my earlier post when I purchased the voucher, it is a good way to experience new places without having to fork out too much money. Would I go back there again? Sure! I like it because it's quiet and the Starfruit Tropicalitea concoction is great!

The best part of the deal today? I didn't even have to part with a cent. Everything was already paid for and I even found a space outside BSC to park (yup, couldn't believe my good luck coz that area is always pretty busy and the carpark in BSC was quite busy at that time as well) and so, I didn't even part with a cent today! :)

a great bargain site

i love bargain hunting and am always looking out for a good deal.

WeBUY is great group buying website that lets you enjoy services and experiences without having to spend too much money. In fact the prices offered on the site are 50% - 90% off the normal retail prices.

The bargains include restaurants, fashion, hotels, spas, travel packages, go karting lessons, entertainment, etc.

There is a time limit for each bargain offered (there is a clock on the page below the bargain which will tell you how much time is left for you to act to buy the bargain). When you see something you like, just click on the "buy" button. The bargain will only be activated if the minimum numbers of buyers is reached.

Buyers will only be charged if the deal is activated. You will not be charged for deals that aren't activated due to insufficient responses from other buyers.

I just purchased a full set of high tea with pastry lunch which comes with a further RM5 voucher for the next visit at The Tea Republic for only RM11 (yup, hard to believe considering that it is located in the Bangsar Shopping Centre).

I've never been to The Tea Republic and I figured that RM11 is a small price to pay to sample the food, atmosphere and services offered there.

WeBuy is currently running The RM203,000 WeBUY Community Giveaway Project  where every person matters as they are offering cash giveaways to be credited into your cash wallets if the number people who buy the deal (which is on 100% discount --- yes, it costs you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING --- it's FREE!!!). This system is based on breaking a number of tiers in order to activate the cash giveaways as more and more people "buy" the deal.

At the present moment as I'm writing, 1572 people have bought the deal which means that the RM5 tier has already been unlocked. As more and more people buy the deal, more money monetary tiers will be unlocked resulting in more money in our respective cash wallets. The number of people targetted to sign up for the deal is 10, 000 which will unlock the maximum tier which will get us all RM20 credited in our cash wallets. There are still 57 days 16 hours 29 minutes and 13 seconds to go as I write this post.

Do yourself a favour and sign up today!
