Today, I'm tossing out:
1. An old Raya cookie container which I repurposed and used as a container to store spices (I threw the expired spices out last weekend)
2. Two old plastic bottles of spices (expired)
Tossing out today:
1. An empty Optrex bottle
2. The box that the Optrex bottle came in
3. An empty Guardian Spa @ Home Sugar Ginger Body Scrub jar (100g from years ago (yes, I keep useless things... and there are dead ants in the jar :O --- how did they get in??? But I guess that shows that real sugar was used).
Tossing out today:
1. Old and reused numerous times empty Carrefour ear buds container.
2. Empty FA Deodorant in Pink Passion from my June 2016 Empties post.
3. Old and deteriorating Cat card case which I purchased in Debenhams in Dubai a few years ago.
1. An empty bottle Biore Perfect Face Milk from my June 2016 Empties post. This is actually a sunscreen and also a primer which has helped keep my oily skin at bay. This was my first Biore Perfect Face Milk bottle purchase. I have since stocked up on more bottles which I purchased during sales.
2. An empty container of Essence All About Matt Loose Powder (the lid is cracked and no, I didn't drop it) from my June 2016 Empties post.
3. An empty box of my favorite Silk Facial Oil Blotters from Daiso (also from my June 2016 Empties post).
1. A cut up tube of toothpaste (I do this to get to the last bits of toothpaste in the tube. You'll be amazed to see how much product is still in the tube when you cut the tube up).
2. An empty Oral B floss container from my June 2016 Empties post.
3. An Oral B floss packaging which I kept so that I could take pictures for my June 2016 Empties post.
1. One box of Loreal Hair color which expired years ago.
2, A much loved La Senza undie which as purchased during one of my trips to Dubai years ago (yes, that's how long my undies last me!). While the elastic band is still good, the rest of the undie has lost its elasticity and is loose, seriously loose --- Not sexy!
3. A H&M black dress which I bought two years ago to wear to my brother's wedding. I only wore this dress once and it showed signs of deterioration after just one wash. I only got one wear from this dress :(
Three expired boxes Garnier Hair Color Kits which I purchased years ago in a warehouse sale. I guess I didn't use them because I found the color to be not long lasting and washes out easily.
I purchased this book from BookXcess in April, I think. Well, what can I say, I just love Personal Finance and Organizing books.
This book is written in short bullets and easy to read and refer to. Paula writes the book in a humorous manner making reading about cleaning and decluttering your space a fun read. There are lots of ideas on how to organize, declutter and simplify your life in this book.
I finally went to the charity donations box in Centrepoint today. I am happy to announce that I donated 12 pairs of shoes and 2 bags of clothes. I hope somebody makes good use of them.
I have other clothes and shoes that I intend to donate but I was thinking of taking them to the SPCA as they now have a charity shop and I thought that I'd take my nicer stuff to them so that they can sell them and make some money for the animals. I just love animals and hope that my donation will help them some.
I've discovered many new things in my wardrobe that I haven't worn, some even have price tags on them still. So this is what I plan to do --- I'm going to put a hold on clothes and shoes shopping for awhile until I have exhausted my current supply or until I feel like giving some of my present stuff away to charity. There is no point in having an abundance of clothes and shoes and not using them. I figured that I could save a lot of money by just chilling and not going shopping as I had normally done in the past.
I am also, at the same time, weeding through my clothes and putting away the clothes that I no longer use away to be donated to charity.
I just watched Enough Already! With Peter Walsh on decluttering footware. Watch the video.
The woman in the video had 42 pairs of shoes to begin with and in comparison, I hate to admit this, but I have waaayyy more pairs than she does (I don't even want to count!). Yes, I'm a shoeaholic!
Inspired by Walsh's video clip, I immediately got down to decluttering my shoes (not all, but some...hey, that's a start, isn't it?) and I'm proud to say that I managed to toss out 16 pairs so far. My aim is to toss out 24 pairs...got to be more discerning when deciding which pairs to keep and which should go into the donation bin. Will keep you updated on how I get on with that goal of mine.
